Why do you wish to join the Civil Workers’ Union?

I wish to run a local newspaper to give the citizens information on what happens in the city. Current events, job opportunities, maybe even interviews with people of interest, or, if we're lucky, the CA themselves! If necessary, every article will go though UU, CA, or CWU Lead's approval before print and distribution. I believe this business could, besides being a decent business, promote good citizenship and entertainment to our citizens. People who read about how good the loyalists live and want to accomplish a similar lifestyle will be more likely to adopt a proactive mentality to reach such status.

Miscellaneous information (optional)

Setting this up should be fairly easy and cheap, I believe we could even do with a regular photocopier if we don't have any newspaper printing equipment. And, if we really want to save up, this could be done through a terminal application instead, or placed on some wall signs at eye level.

How long have you been playing HL2RP in general?

2 or 3 years, probably. I recently came back from a long, long break only to find most serious roleplays are dead. Most of my 2k hours on gmod are from hl2rp.

Why do you want to have a character in the Civil Workers’ Union?

I honestly simply had the idea of making a newspaper instead of my usual go CWU and smuggle stuff to the rebellion shenanigans, and I want to try it. I've been CWU on most servers (before the character was found to be rebelling) and I did a decent job in my opinion. Even got a lead role one time.

Write a brief backstory of your character.

Annie was a student on journalism before the Combine. Thus the goal of opening her own newspaper gig as a CWU. She didn't really have much going on, as she was still studying and didn't get to make any real interviews, or get hired by a news channel, so she mostly stuck to herself and her books, novels, podcasts etcetera. The media was practically her life, aware of everything around her but too unaware of life itself. When the combine came, after the initial month of rational fear and uncertainty, she came to realize she found the combine quite interesting. It was an entirely new thing. Culture, lifestyle, everything. And yet the only form of media seemed to be the CA's broadcast. Perhaps she could change that a little bit.

Have you had a character in the Civil Workers’ Union before on any server? If so, provide more details on that character and your overall time being a civil worker on that server.

Pretty much on every server. I couldn't give a precise number but I would say that it's easily near or above the 10 servers mark. And, on most of them, I played a generic industrial worker to organize shifts, then I discounted a few items from the report which I'd pocket and list them as faulty, broken or otherwise. Some time later I'd sneak into the sewers and distribute them. Else, I'd play a CWU and run a shop, smuggle a few items I could spare down the sewers much like as an industrial. This time though I want to try some loyalist characters, specifically this one and a CP on a later ocassion.
