Character(s) you're requesting authorization for: James Brown
What exactly are you requesting for?: The authorization to have a U.S. 1816 musket, and the auth to be able to ICly build crude muskets, specifically flintlock muskets, as well as craft black powder.
Why do you want your character(s) to have this authorization?: This character concept is an old one. My idea was a simple one - a crazed American patriot, hellbent on destroying the Combine and restoring the United States. Of course, being an extremely stereotypical caricature of American nationalists, I wanted him to have a weapon, and an intimate enough knowledge of weapons to craft them. To keep it balanced, however, I decided to make it something very unorthodox and pretty impractical. Muskets. An absolutely shit weapon to use against an inter-universal empire, but a weapon nonetheless. Plus, the idea of a bunch of rebels with muskets using guerilla tactics to kill CPs is incredible.
Write a detailed explanation of how your character received these authorizations: James Brown, born July 4th, 1974, was born a patriot. Raised by his inarguably crazy parents in Texas, their delusions ended up rubbing off on him. He joined the military the moment he turned 17, with his parent’s blessings, and ended up being shipped off to fight in Desert Shield and Desert Storm. This combat eroded his mental state further, and when he returned, he was nothing short of absolutely mad. His love for his nation was unstoppable, far surpassing even his love for his own family. He owned numerous firearms, a few of them being built in his garage for fun, although his favorite was an American 1816 musket, one purportedly passed down his family line for generations. When the Seven Hour War began, he attempted to take to the streets, but the war was over before he could even fire a shot. Disappointed, he left his home, his belongings, all except for his beloved musket, and ran off, going into hiding and traveling around, living off of the land, almost considering himself a modern Johnny Appleseed. As the world deteriorated around him, he kept his hopes high, yearning for a day that the glorious United States would return stronger than ever. He’d often build rudimentary flintlock muskets out of the scrap he could find and leave supply caches around, hoping that some revolutionary could find them and use them to fight the Combine.
